Adhesives for sandwich panels
The challenges in the production of lightweight composites increase with the multitude of materials. In these applications, the adhesive plays a decisive role. Beside bonding durably and reliably, it has to perform additional functions: flame retardation, blocking or controlled permeation of vapor, abate noise, damping of vibrations, diminish thermal stresses, and much more.
New: for the manufacture of sandwich elements of aluminum or composites such as a FRP and an aluminum honeycomb core, we recommend viscoelastic Collano adhesive films. Their adhesive strength exceeds the performance range of reactive systems, and they provide the composite with high resistance against fatigue and shock.
The 2C silane epoxy adhesive is ideal for the manufacture of sandwich elements with fire-stopping properties and extreme mechanical alternating loads and vibration stresses. It is not only flame-retardant but at the same time very tough and elastic.
Collano special adhesives are suitable for the manufacture of
– Aluminum or plastic honeycomb cores with various cover layers
– Hard-foam cores with various cover layers
– Components subject to fire-protection specifications
– Elements for insulation and noise abatement
– Elastic bonds for elements exposed to vibrations
For application in buildings, vehicles, and special structures
Composites are the most important basic materials used by many industries.
This is because sandwich elements by far outperform the properties of their individual constituents and can be precisely developed to meet specific requirements.
